What is DLT Registration?

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) took a significant step towards fostering transparency and reducing Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC) in the Indian telecom industry with the introduction of The Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations, 2018 (Regulation) in July 2019. This move not only aims to establish a more streamlined and open system but also to enhance the mobile subscriber experience
 
We are reaching out to provide you with essential information about the phased implementation of the aforementioned Regulation. The directive has made it necessary to leverage blockchain technology, also referred to as Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), to realize the solution. Every telecommunications operator has successfully integrated the DLT system (Blockchain technology), marking a substantial step towards curbing UCC.
 
In this initial phase of the rollout, all entities and enterprises are required to register on the new platform. This step is compulsory and forms the foundation for the subsequent phases of the Regulation’s implementation.
